About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the organization's senior financial leader and trusted advisor to executive leadership
- Lead financial strategy, planning, forecasting, and organizational performance improvement initiatives
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations for growth opportunities, new service lines, and operational decision-making
- Develop and monitor key organizational performance indicators
- Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Ensure internal controls, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
- Maintain multi-entity financial reporting and organizational accounting integrity
- Lead revenue integrity and revenue cycle performance in collaboration with the outsourced Revenue Cycle Vendor
- Oversee revenue cycle performance from registration through final payment collection
- Monitor revenue capture, coding accuracy, documentation integrity, denials, and reimbursement performance
- Identify and eliminate revenue leakage opportunities
- Lead revenue cycle performance improvement initiatives
- Oversee Charts Not Received (CNR) and Requests for Additional Information (RAI) processes
- Monitor and ensure provider enrollment with payors through the third-party RCM vendor
- Develop reporting and accountability systems for accounts receivable, collection rates, denials, charge lag, coding turnaround, and revenue recovery
- Partner with physicians, facilities, and revenue cycle vendors to optimize financial performance
- Oversee payroll operations, physician and APP compensation, benefits administration, and vendor relationships
- Monitor payroll and benefits costs, trends, and compliance requirements
- Monitor financial performance across facilities, contracts, and service lines
- Analyze margins, staffing expenses, provider productivity, and reimbursement trends
- Support contract negotiations, financial modeling, and operational improvement initiatives
- Develop executive dashboards and performance reporting tools
- Lead and develop finance, accounting, payroll, and revenue cycle personnel
- Foster accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Utilize automation, analytics, and emerging AI technologies to improve efficiency and scalability
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that strengthen organizational performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare finance, accounting, revenue cycle management, or related disciplines
- Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, physician practice finance, and revenue cycle operations
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and operational analysis functions
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional teams and organizational initiatives
- Advanced analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Preferred: CPA, MBA, MHA, HFMA certification, or comparable advanced credential
- Preferred: Experience in physician-owned healthcare organizations, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or multi-site healthcare enterprises
- Preferred: Experience overseeing outsourced billing and coding relationships
- Preferred: Knowledge of provider compensation methodologies
- Preferred: Experience leveraging data analytics, automation, and AI tools in financial operations
