About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support project development and permitting duties for solar and battery energy storage projects
  • Create presentations for community meetings
  • Review utility interconnection and state incentive applications
  • Support communication processes with landowners

  • Support project pipeline and special projects
  • Support development of solar and energy storage project opportunities in Massachusetts
  • Represent BlueWave within the Project Development team, interacting with engineers, contractors, landowners, permitting authorities, and customers
  • Utilize document control, GIS tools, and Salesforce to control and report on project progress
  • Become familiar with project documentation, regulatory requirements, and milestones, and monitor project progress
  • Prepare internal and external documents and presentations
  • Provide quantitative analytical support for project development decisions
  • Assist in land-use, permitting, and site control negotiations; attend meetings with local government boards and commissions
  • Assist in early project diligence, including site design and financial modeling
  • Support the Grid Integration team in managing the utility interconnection process for projects under management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Energy Systems, Urban Planning, Business, or a related field
  • Preference for candidates that have at least one previous co-op or work experience in a related discipline
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative team environment while managing tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Technical exposure to or working knowledge of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • General understanding of electrical components used in solar and storage projects
  • Self‑motivated, proactive learner who can quickly ramp up in a dynamic environment
  • Creative problem‑solver with an interest in improving processes and streamlining operations
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and based in the Boston area
