About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and provide operational support for customer network environments within BMIT’s managed services portfolio
- Onboard, administer, and perform day-to-day operational tasks on on-premise and cloud-based customer networks
- Manage and support customer firewalls, LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, and network security components
- Deploy, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and wireless access points
- Perform preventive maintenance, upgrades, and service enhancements
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues and participate in root-cause analysis
- Act as the primary technical contact for customers on network-related matters
- Communicate with customers during incidents, changes, and planned maintenance
- Document network designs, configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Support Azure Networking and AWS VPC and collaborate on hybrid and cloud-first network designs
- Work with commercial and service teams to understand customer requirements and tailor network solutions
- Support solution reviews, change requests, and service improvements
- Participate in an on-call rotation and carry out onsite customer visits when required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience supporting and administering enterprise networks (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, wireless) in an MSP or enterprise environment
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls
- Strong understanding of network security fundamentals and best practices
- Ability to work to SLAs, follow change control, and produce clear technical documentation
- Strong customer communication skills during incidents, changes, and maintenance
- Vendor certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto, or Aruba (desirable)
- Experience with cloud networking, including Azure Networking, AWS VPC, and hybrid connectivity (desirable)
- Experience with load balancers, SD-WAN, or advanced wireless design (beneficial)
