About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive sales results for designated mutual fund/ETF products through non-affiliated or third-party Advisory intermediaries and within BMO Advisory channels
  • Put investment advisors first and support the wholesaler in driving regional sales results
  • Work with investment advisors, prospects, and internal stakeholders to build relationships and drive results
  • Propose solutions and make recommendations based on advisor needs and market opportunities
  • Build effective internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Partner closely with the wholesaler with consistent, clear communication
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a business plan and sales strategies to achieve objectives and acquire new investment advisors
  • Participate in industry and intermediary events to grow marketplace presence
  • Organize and arrange conference calls and presentations independently or with portfolio managers to promote new strategies
  • Partner with team members on regional management and new opportunities
  • Identify new investment advisors and convert prospects into relationships
  • Handle multiple priorities, competing deadlines, and ad hoc advisor tasks
  • Use Salesforce/customer relationship management systems effectively and timely
  • Think creatively and propose new solutions
  • Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules
  • Work mostly independently
  • Perform broader work or accountabilities as assigned
  • Work a hybrid arrangement with a minimum of four days in the office

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed Canadian Securities Course, CIM or CFP certifications are strong assets
  • Basic understanding of intermediary Advisory sales and the Investment market
  • Ability to proactively conduct effective sales conversations on investment strategies and solutions over the phone with investment advisors
  • In-depth verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth collaboration and team skills
  • In-depth influence skills
  • Demonstrated experience speaking to macro economic conditions, financial markets and various investment vehicles
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated effective and timely use of Salesforce/customer relationship management systems
  • Adherence to all compliance, regulatory, and legal guidelines
