About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct audit engagements to assess management and internal control processes
  • Approve the nature, extent, timing, execution, and reporting of audits
  • Report audit findings with clear, concise, and insightful assessments
  • Provide assurance to the Board of Directors and senior management on internal controls
  • Act as a trusted advisor to assigned business or group
  • Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making
  • Advise the Chief Auditor and Assistant Chief Auditor on audit execution
  • Help develop the annual audit plan
  • Improve and simplify Corporate Audit processes
  • Execute individual and enterprise-level audits considering inherent, control, environmental, and regulatory risks
  • Conduct advisory and other engagements as required
  • Assess the impact of changing strategies, risks, initiatives, and emerging technologies on audit services
  • Use data analytics in advisory engagements
  • Develop insights into business strategies, policies, standards, risks, and controls
  • Maintain audit independence
  • Develop discussion points and audit reports with fair, balanced, objective, clear, concise, and timely assessments
  • Identify control deficiencies and assess their magnitude
  • Maintain knowledge of industry, regulatory, economic, and internal environments
  • Ensure audit procedures comply with Corporate Audit Methodology
  • Apply sound judgment and maintain open communication
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Monitor change management initiatives and identify potential risks
  • Participate in Corporate Audit change initiatives
  • Maintain and enhance professional audit qualifications
  • Provide specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support
  • Independently diagnose and solve non-routine problems within established rules

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically between 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional designation or business designation such as CIA or CPA-Audit
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience
  • In-depth verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth collaboration and team skills
  • In-depth analytical and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth influence skills
