About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in a 16-month Business & Operations Development Program with three 5-month rotations
  • Support research, development, implementation, and execution of business initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across U.S. Banking and the COO organization
  • Analyze business challenges, identify opportunities, develop recommendations, and contribute to strategic projects
  • Conduct market research, forecasting, pricing, and competitive analysis
  • Monitor product and system performance and develop solutions to assessed problems
  • Analyze product risks in compliance with legal, regulatory, and risk requirements
  • Support strategic initiatives with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues
  • Build relationships and ensure alignment with stakeholders
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards
  • Monitor performance, address issues, and support change management
  • Provide input into operational program planning and implementation
  • Support development of key metrics and identification of trends
  • Gather customer and sales feedback and analyze issues
  • Evaluate market research, competitive intelligence, customer insights, and channel information
  • Complete internal and regulatory reporting
  • Act as day-to-day vendor contact and support vendor solution implementation and maintenance
  • Resolve internal, first-level customer escalations
  • Design, implement, manage, and enhance core business processes and products throughout the product lifecycle
  • Develop business cases, strategic roadmaps, key metrics, action plans, product documentation, templates, and requirements
  • Support salesforce training, materials, client deals, and related presentations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors
  • Create marketing strategies, offers, and campaigns with Marketing and other partners
  • Influence or determine credit product risk parameters and metrics
  • Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework and make risk-informed decisions aligned with business strategy and applicable policies and regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically 1–2 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of retail and business banking environmental awareness / understanding
  • Methodology and process skills
  • Analytics and reporting skills
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience
  • Verbal and written communication skills — in-depth
  • Collaboration and team skills — in-depth
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills — in-depth
  • Influence skills — in-depth
  • Data-driven decision-making skills — in-depth
  • Software and systems architecture knowledge is desirable, including SQL, Python, and Power BI
