About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in BMO’s 16-month Business & Operations Development Program through three 5-month rotations
  • Support research, development, implementation, and execution of business initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across U.S. Banking and the COO organization
  • Analyze business challenges, identify opportunities, develop recommendations, and contribute to strategic projects
  • Conduct market research, forecasting, pricing, and competitive analysis
  • Monitor product and system performance and develop solutions to address issues
  • Analyze product risks and support legal, regulatory, risk, and internal reporting
  • Support strategic initiatives with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues
  • Build relationships and ensure alignment with stakeholders
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards
  • Monitor performance, develop key metrics, identify trends, and implement action plans
  • Support change management and operational program planning and implementation
  • Gather customer and sales feedback and analyze issues
  • Evaluate customer insights, channels information, market research, and competitive intelligence
  • Act as day-to-day vendor contact and support vendor solution implementation and maintenance
  • Resolve first-level internal customer escalations
  • Design, implement, manage, and enhance business processes and banking products throughout the product lifecycle
  • Define and implement business cases and strategic roadmaps, including project and budget approvals
  • Develop salesforce training and materials and manage change
  • Support sales teams with client deals and presentations
  • Develop and maintain external partner and vendor relationships
  • Create marketing strategies, offers, and campaigns with Marketing partners
  • Manage product documentation, templates, and requirements
  • Influence or determine credit product risk parameters and metrics
  • Make sound, risk-informed decisions aligned with business strategy and applicable regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically 1–2 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of retail and business banking environmental awareness / understanding
  • Methodology and process knowledge — good
  • Analytics and reporting knowledge — good
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience
  • Verbal and written communication skills — in-depth
  • Collaboration and team skills — in-depth
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills — in-depth
  • Influence skills — in-depth
  • Data-driven decision-making skills — in-depth
  • Software and systems architecture knowledge is desirable, including SQL, Python, and Power BI
