About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with leaders to execute external positioning and executive communications plans for BMO’s Commercial Bank
- Lead internal and external communications programs for the Commercial Banking team
- Assess communications needs and recommend communications plans and solutions
- Secure necessary approvals and create and deliver communications solutions
- Execute communications supporting BMO’s external consideration and internal employee engagement and alignment
- Apply an integrated communications approach across stakeholder audiences
- Oversee executive communications for U.S. Commercial Bank leadership
- Collaborate with communications, media relations, marketing and business partners to achieve positioning goals
- Provide strategic external communications counsel and support to senior leadership
- Identify stories and opportunities to profile business advancements aligned with the value proposition and client segment strategy
- Use analytics and competitive benchmarking to measure success and demonstrate impact
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities and maximize results
- Monitor and track feedback and social channels and proactively respond to issues
- Provide competitive intelligence and insights to inform strategy
- Work in compliance with regulatory policies, digital and brand guidelines, standards and processes to mitigate risk and improve effectiveness
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically 10+ years of relevant experience
- Post-secondary degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Agency experience or agency management experience
- Experience at an agency and in a large organization a plus
- Expert writing and editing skills
- Straight-talk and story-telling communications approach
- Ability to distill technical and complex information into key audience messages
- Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge
- In-depth / Expert verbal and written communication skills
- In-depth / Expert analytical and problem-solving skills
- In-depth / Expert influence skills
- In-depth / Expert collaboration and team skills, with a focus on cross-group collaboration
