About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support operational processes for timely and accurate settlement of security, derivative, foreign exchange, and money market transactions executed globally
- Provide pre- and post-settlement support for account opening, confirmation, cash management, margin, and collateralization
- Support specialized operations including asset servicing, corporate actions/entitlements, correspondent banking services, and wire payment operations
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements
- Gather and format data for regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards
- Support change management execution and sustainment activities
- Serve as a problem-solving resource for junior staff
- Organize work information for accuracy and completeness
- Execute service requests, transactions, and queries within service-level agreements
- Follow policies and procedures and check and reconcile information and documentation
- Analyze data and provide insights and recommendations
- Identify and resolve issues and discrepancies, escalating as required
- Deal directly with clients to resolve issues
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain stakeholder relationships and meet service delivery expectations
- Understand regulatory requirements and operational risks
- Collaborate on new processes, systems, and improvements
- Support development of tools and delivery of training
- Complete complex and diverse tasks and handle escalations
- Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework and make risk-informed decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience
- Post-secondary degree in a related field of study desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge and experience using relevant systems and technology
- Knowledge and understanding of business unit products, services, processes, and controls
- Knowledge of risk and regulatory requirements
- Prioritization skills
- Customer service skills
- PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Specialized knowledge
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good organization skills
- Good collaboration and team skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exposure to reconciliation processes and/or accounting principles considered an asset
- Basic understanding of Corporate Actions, particularly income events
