About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and grow client relationships through customized investment-related advice, sales, and service
  • Assess individual client investment needs and educate clients on investment strategies, risks, and performance expectations
  • Build trust and retain long-term client relationships while delivering an exceptional client experience
  • Identify and make referrals to other business groups
  • Partner with lead advisors, COIs, business partners, BMO partners, internal teams, and the community to identify growth opportunities
  • Support sales, business development, and marketing activities through telephone prospecting, networking, seminars, campaigns, and community involvement
  • Prepare and execute client portfolio reviews, including meeting preparation, report generation, client communication, investment research, and proposals
  • Explain and execute investment concepts, wealth plans, portfolio construction and management, and wealth management strategies
  • Escalate complex or unresolved client situations and complaints
  • Support annual business plans, execution, and progress tracking aligned with growth objectives
  • Prepare financial plans for common client goals such as retirement
  • Provide advice regarding tax efficiency, legal implications, financial impact, and fees, or engage appropriate partners
  • Manage databases and support analysis, forecasting, and data visualization while following data governance standards
  • Assist in creating investment portfolios and identifying required changes
  • Assess fees, determine overall household fees, and coordinate with internal partners
  • Manage the efficient and effective operation of the support office; train new team members and branch support staff
  • Monitor sales and service performance against plans to identify gaps, issues, and best practices
  • Support business strategy and planning activities
  • Fulfill client sales and service activities in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework and make risk-informed decisions aligned with business strategy and applicable policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience and/or certification in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must meet the licensing and certification requirements for the branch / jurisdiction where the mandate is being fulfilled
  • Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience
  • In-depth verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth collaboration and team skills
  • In-depth analytical and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth influence skills
  • Ability to work mostly independently
  • Ability to comply with regulatory requirements, internal risk mitigation policies, industry rules and regulations, and applicable laws
