About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in deal teams to develop, present, and win mandates for new opportunities
- Create pitch books for clients regarding financial solutions and participate in client presentations
- Monitor clients, industries, and regulatory agencies for changes affecting client portfolios and business needs
- Initiate contact with partners for new client sales
- Manage a diverse portfolio of private and middle-market companies, progressing toward increased client responsibility
- Review and monitor existing account and client relationship performance
- Conduct due diligence, including client visits, business model analysis, industry trends, and regulations
- Identify opportunities to diversify client portfolios and cross-sell
- Identify efficiency and service improvements for internal and external clients
- Provide analytical findings to deal teams
- Support strategic initiatives with internal and external stakeholders
- Build effective stakeholder relationships and ensure stakeholder alignment
- Create and update financial models and analyses to analyze client portfolios and anticipate client needs
- Analyze and assess industry compilations
- Complete or lead technical and financial reports and analyses supporting client deliverables
- Understand transaction complexity and related credit, market, operational, legal, and compliance risks
- Integrate information from multiple sources to improve processes, analysis, and reporting
- Provide direction and feedback to Analysts and support their development and mentoring
- Deliver financial modeling supporting strategic client recommendations
- Apply risk management, internal controls, compliance, policies, laws, and regulations in day-to-day activities
- Exercise judgment to diagnose and solve complex problems independently
- Take measured risks while protecting the bank and aligning decisions with business strategy and risk appetite
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically between 4–6 years of relevant experience
- Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Undergraduate degree with academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting
- Outstanding academic achievement
- MBA degree preferred
- 3+ years of investment banking or valuation experience at a financial analyst level
- Knowledge of capital markets, investment banking products, and applicable regulations
- Credit analysis experience/understanding
- Knowledge of organizational portfolio management policies and objectives
- Solid deal/transaction execution and/or project management skills
- Exceptional quantitative analytics, financial modeling, and credit analysis skills
- Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools
- Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience
- In-depth verbal and written communication skills

- In-depth analytical and problem-solving skills
