About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership and operational oversight to support professionals serving the Greater Toronto Area Trust business
  • Lead, coach, develop, and monitor the Trust professional support team
  • Support the Regional Director, Trust Services for GTA with day-to-day operations and strategic planning
  • Ensure timely, accurate, high-quality support to Trust Officers, internal business partners, and clients
  • Manage team capacity, workflow, processes, risk, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Foster collaboration, diversity, inclusion, accountability, and alignment with BMO purpose, values, and strategy
  • Attract, retain, develop, coach, and manage talent and performance
  • Support market business development plans and address client concerns and escalations
  • Perform risk assessments and monitoring; recommend solutions regarding risk, regulatory requirements, and compliance
  • Coordinate strategic initiatives, track metrics and milestones, and assist with strategic plans
  • Coordinate databases and ensure data governance alignment and integration
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports
  • Implement Bank initiatives, programs, operational controls, and corrective actions
  • Build and execute change management and communication plans
  • Prepare compliance monitoring and risk assessment documentation and findings
  • Execute administrative reviews, filings, operational programs, account processing, documentation, and reporting
  • Act as a subject matter expert on business applications and systems
  • Source candidates, support trainee mentorship, and supervise performance during and after training
  • Design, implement, and manage core business/group processes and training programs
  • Meet service standards, identify irregularities, escalate discrepancies, and safeguard customer assets and privacy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically 5–7 years of estate and trust administration experience
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Sales and service experience preferred
  • In-depth operational experience
  • Supervisory/leadership experience an asset
  • In-depth experience with estate and trust products and related technologies
  • Deep estate and trust knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience
  • In-depth verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth collaboration and team skills
  • In-depth analytical and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth influence skills
  • In-depth data-driven decision-making skills
  • Ability to travel 25% across the GTA market
