About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in implementing, maintaining and administering a specific compliance program
  • Coordinate and perform risk assessment, monitoring, testing and surveillance activities
  • Work with business groups and internal partners to meet regulatory, corporate and fiduciary obligations
  • Advise business groups on new regulatory developments and internal products
  • Implement new or revised policies and programs
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation actions
  • Develop and maintain compliance information for analysis and reporting
  • Conduct independent risk assessments
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures
  • Lead and review testers in executing test plans
  • Perform and challenge monitoring and testing activities
  • Support root cause analysis for material control or regulatory failures
  • Document testing evidence for reperformance and internal documentation compliance
  • Lead testing engagements and projects; analyze results and communicate findings, recommendations and status updates to management
  • Build professional relationships with first-line and second-line stakeholders
  • Advise business groups on solutions aligned to regulatory risk appetite
  • Identify emerging issues and trends
  • Analyze and report compliance data and regulatory risk insights
  • Identify, assess, challenge and oversee issue resolution, remediation plans and validation
  • Escalate high-profile issues and risk cases to Compliance and business management
  • Advise first-line management and employees on compliance matters
  • Identify enhancements to business-group tools and processes
  • Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose and solve problems
  • Handle department or program initiatives independently

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in related field of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Recognized CIA certification or equivalent preferred
  • Strong process analysis, risk and control identification, and testing capabilities
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, relationship management and project management skills
  • Strong knowledge of second line and/or business operations and procedures, and activities involving documented practices
  • Skilled knowledge of regulatory/compliance requirements
