About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Research, define, align, develop, and implement sales and marketing strategies for banking products with P&L accountability
- Conduct market research, forecasting, pricing, competitive analysis, customer/consumer insights, and channel analysis
- Monitor product and system performance, growth metrics, financial performance, and customer experience
- Manage product risks, regulatory compliance, reporting, attestations, policies, and controls
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to take products to market
- Recommend strategies, new initiatives, product lifecycle actions, and strategic plans to senior leaders
- Act as a subject matter expert on regulations, policies, products, and product management
- Manage resources and lead strategic, operational, and change-management initiatives
- Develop business cases, strategic roadmaps, business requirements, analytics, reports, dashboards, and action plans
- Lead reporting, forecasting, analytics, and predictive modelling activities
- Oversee vendor relationships, external partnerships, and vendor solution implementation
- Resolve complex customer escalations, policy exceptions, internal issues, gaps, and solutions
- Design, implement, manage, and enhance products throughout the product lifecycle
- Develop salesforce training and materials and manage related change
- Support sales teams with client deals and presentations
- Create marketing strategies, offers, and campaigns with Marketing and other partners
- Develop and maintain product documentation, templates, requirements, directives, and policies
- Influence or determine credit product risk parameters and metrics
- Continuously improve processes and deliver optimal customer experience
- Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework and make risk-informed decisions aligned with policies, laws, regulations, strategy, and risk appetite
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically 7+ years of relevant experience
- Post-secondary degree in Business or a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong experience with consumer/commercial credit applicable to retail and business financing products
- Strong experience with retail and business product fundamentals, including product design, functionality, policies, and procedures
- Strong knowledge of product delivery infrastructure systems and underlying product interdependencies
- In-depth retail and business banking environmental awareness/understanding
- In-depth risk management knowledge associated with new and existing product development and management
- Strong knowledge of process coordination and management
- Strong knowledge of banking product management and associated industry and regulatory requirements
- In-depth business case development
- In-depth market trend research
- In-depth relationship management
- In-depth analytics and reporting
- In-depth product marketing
