About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead end-to-end delivery of scalable, multi-tier applications, including architecture, development, test automation, CI/CD, deployment, and production support
- Translate business and automation needs into technical solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and agile teams to define scope, prioritize work, and deliver software
- Design and build RESTful APIs and microservices
- Ensure performance, reliability, observability, and secure coding across services and UI layers
- Establish operational runbooks, on-call practices, logging, metrics, tracing, and incident response
- Champion coding standards, code reviews, static analysis, test coverage, and release discipline
- Mentor teammates and foster continuous improvement
- Integrate AI and emerging technologies, including LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and agentic frameworks
- Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap, build/buy decisions, event-driven systems, rules/workflows, caching, and distributed systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
- 3–6 years of professional full-stack development experience
- Expert-level Java 17+
- 5+ years with Spring/Spring Boot
- Experience with microservices architecture and REST API design and implementation
- Angular 14+ or React/JavaScript experience
- Hands-on messaging/eventing experience; Kafka preferred
- Proficiency with JUnit, Mockito, Gherkin, Cucumber, SonarQube, and testing practices including TDD and BDD
- Experience with Git, GitLab workflows, Docker, infrastructure-as-code fundamentals, and blue-green/feature-flag release strategies
- Experience with SLF4J/Log4j, log aggregation, metrics/tracing, and tools such as Splunk
- Familiarity with Snowflake or other NoSQL stores and data modeling for microservices
- Agile/Scrum experience and familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and Slack
- Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or Windsurf
- Strong problem-solving, communication, pair programming, and team collaboration skills
