About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner in developing and implementing brand sales-growth plans for BIPI and co-promoted cardio-renal-metabolic products.
  • Conduct business with targeted cardiology specialists, nephrology specialists, advanced practice clinicians, and allied healthcare professionals.
  • Perform sales activities in teaching and community hospitals, federal and military hospitals, heart failure clinics, managed healthcare facilities, and integrated delivery networks using in-person and digital/virtual platforms.
  • Generate advocacy for Boehringer Ingelheim products with key decision makers in assigned hospital accounts.
  • Execute brand strategies and deliver company sales and marketing messages appropriately.
  • Use knowledge of cardiology, nephrology, diabetes, disease states, marketplaces, drivers, influencers, and prescribing patterns to manage territory opportunities.
  • Coordinate with co-promotion partners, BIPI employees, account teams, medical teams, and other commercial associates.
  • Translate product knowledge into customer-focused sales presentations and provide clinical and technical value within regulatory guidelines.
  • Drive appropriate utilization of approved cardiovascular-renal products.
  • Engage customers through personal and non-personal channels, including live interactions, remote video conferences, and marketing email.
  • Integrate digital assets and strategies into territory-level business plans.
  • Support continuation-of-care initiatives, including discharge protocols, treatment algorithms, disease management, pathways, order sets, formularies, transition of care, and population health management.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Cardiovascular-Renal Sales Consultant: At least three (3) years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, including 1+ years promoting cardiovascular, diabetes, and/or nephrology pharmaceuticals.
  • Executive Cardiovascular-Renal Sales Consultant I: At least five (5) years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, including 2+ years promoting cardiovascular, diabetes, and/or nephrology pharmaceuticals.
  • Hospital and/or Account Management experience preferred for Cardiovascular-Renal Sales Consultant.
  • At least 1+ year of Hospital and/or Account Management experience required for Executive Cardiovascular-Renal Sales Consultant I.
  • History of successful performance.
  • Meets expectations for the key competencies required for the role.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and database applications.
  • Ability to travel, potentially including overnight travel.
  • Should reside in the territory geography or be willing to relocate.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Authorization and ability to drive a company leased vehicle or authorized rental vehicle.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical, if required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
