About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software across the full lifecycle
  • Translate customer needs and requirements into software designs and implementation plans
  • Develop, document, and maintain software architectures, algorithms, interfaces, and detailed designs
  • Develop, integrate, and optimize software products and system integrations, including supplier-supplied components
  • Debug complex issues, lead root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Respond to user inquiries and troubleshoot technical problems
  • Incorporate user feedback into product improvements
  • Research and evaluate current and emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks
  • Establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics
  • Plan, execute, and document software research and development initiatives
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle on an Agile team within a CI/CD pipeline
  • Develop cloud-native microservices that capture and analyze platform health and usage data, perform automated assessments, and generate maintenance recommendations for Boeing platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • U.S. Citizenship required for the U.S. Security Clearance
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start required
  • U.S. Person status required for export control compliance
  • 2+ years of experience with Object Oriented Design and Programming in a high-level language like C#, .NET, Java, SQL, HTML, and CSS
  • 2+ years of experience with software development on Windows or Linux
  • 2+ years of experience developing software for containerized architectures (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
  • 2+ years of experience in Git
  • 2+ years of experience developing software products in a cloud environment
  • Completion of the required CodeVue technical assessment
  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 2+ years of related work experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of directly related work experience; OR 10+ years of related, relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of specification formats and change control
  • Ability to support requirements derivation, allocation, and traceability
  • Familiarity with software architecture and design principles
  • Experience building, integrating, and troubleshooting software components in host environments
  • Practical experience with programming languages and basic database usage
  • Exposure to implementation, validation, verification practices, and development/test tools
  • Basic domain awareness of aircraft, ground, or support systems and software constraints
