Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise management on topics related to the embedded software engineering environment
  • Consult on code for embedded systems software running on specialized hardware
  • Direct testing and debugging of embedded devices and systems
  • Influence technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes relevant to software and hardware
  • Direct the design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of embedded software
  • Direct review, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into software product designs
  • Influence company approaches to software and hardware integration
  • Oversee analysis, monitoring, and improvement of embedded software efficiency and stability
  • Track and evaluate internal and supplier software team performance for product and process compliance
  • Consult on integration of embedded software with hardware components
  • Provide technical leadership for embedded software project management functions
  • Lead the AvionX Software Engineering organization as the highest software technical authority across airborne software programs
  • Own software architecture coherence, integrity, and DO-178C/LOR compliance from architecture definition through certification closure
  • Enable enterprise software engineering practices and processes across AvionX programs
  • Travel 20%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • 15+ years of experience programming in C/C++
  • 10+ years of experience developing software for embedded systems using RTOS: Wind River Systems VxWorks, DDC-I Deos or Green Hills Software Integrity
  • 10+ years of experience using Matlab/Simulink
  • 10+ years of experience with embedded software development, verification, or certification
  • U.S. Person required for U.S. export control compliance
  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
  • Required to complete a technical assessment
  • Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process
  • Must meet drug-free workplace testing requirements when criteria is met
