About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Plan, conduct, and document complex tests on products, systems, components, materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies
Design, fabricate, build, and analyze test systems, materials, components, software, and methodologies
Coordinate test requirements and determine test methods and capabilities
Prepare systems for testing by guiding integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout, and teardown
Perform test article configuration control
Conduct complex tests, analyze data, document results, and participate in test readiness reviews
Identify and resolve test anomalies
Troubleshoot and resolve complex laboratory and test-related problems
Coordinate test laboratory activities, maintenance, repairs, and personnel training
Assist government agencies and safety and hazardous materials teams during emergencies
Assist engineers and senior technicians with optical alignment
Serve as a test crew member, with training in optics and lasers, telescope operation, camera operation, or atmospheric operation
Support Air Force Research Lab advancement of Space Domain Awareness capabilities using ground-based telescopes

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in engineering technician, construction or facilities maintenance disciplines
5+ years of experience working with powered hand tools or equipment
Willing and able to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance required; U.S. Citizenship Required
Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person
Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
Experience assembling lab prototypes, chassis wiring, and mechanical mounting based on schematics, drawings, and system requirements
Experience operating complex computer-based analysis or control systems
Experience with high power lasers
Experience with optical alignment techniques
Experience with electronics/electrical systems
Experience with mechanical systems
Successful candidates must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process
