Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support firmware and software research and development projects

  • Develop test procedures and document test results
  • Ensure embedded-system requirements are met
  • Support hardware, firmware, and software development of electro-optical systems
  • Contribute to development, optimization, and maintenance of embedded electro-mechanical pointing and tracking control systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance or equivalent after starting
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2+ years of experience testing embedded systems in a laboratory environment
  • 2+ years of experience programming with Python, Java, C, C++, and MATLAB
  • Willingness to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
  • U.S. Person status required for U.S. export control compliance
  • Employer will not sponsor employment visas
  • Mid-Level option: 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, and HTTP
  • Experience with black box, white box, integration, system, and performance testing
  • Experience creating test plans, test cases, and test reports
  • Experience troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues
  • Experience with debugging tools and techniques
  • Experience isolating and reproducing bugs
  • Hands-on experience setting up and configuring embedded-system test environments
  • Experience with MATLAB or Mathematica for performance analysis
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and signal generators
  • Experience with telescopes and electro-optical systems
  • Experience in OS driver development
  • Effective in small team environments with broad responsibilities and minimal oversight
