About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and validate requirements for communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and other electromagnetic systems and components
  • Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electrical/electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects, and structures
  • Develop architectures integrating systems and components into higher-level systems and platforms
  • Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and analysis to predict performance and optimize designs
  • Define and conduct tests validating design performance against requirements
  • Manage supplier and partner performance to ensure requirements compliance
  • Provide lifecycle engineering support and root-cause analysis for anomalies
  • Support project management with work statements, budgets, schedules, inputs, and status reporting
  • Write proposal sections supporting new business development
  • Work under general direction
  • Join a team developing, assembling, integrating, and testing a constellation of satellites and EO/IR sensors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance post-start; U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
  • U.S. Person required for U.S. export control compliance
  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
  • Successful candidates must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process
  • Preferred: experience with space and/or airborne systems
  • Preferred: experience with optical design
  • Preferred: experience with opto-mechanical and/or electromechanical designs
  • Preferred: experience with systems design, integration, and test
  • Preferred: experience designing and/or modeling electro-optical systems
  • Preferred: modeling and/or simulation of Electro-Optical and Infrared systems using Matlab, Mathematica, or another technical computing language
  • Preferred: electro-optical design and analysis using Zemax, CodeV, or equivalent software
  • Preferred: experience with optics, lasers, optical alignment, opto-mechanical, and optical metrology
