About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define Guidance, Navigation and Control mission requirements and ensure requirements traceability and quality from the system level to component level
  • Use multidisciplinary model data to develop and refine complex, nonlinear, 6 degrees of freedom simulation models
  • Develop, implement, integrate and test vehicle models and controllers using C, C++, FORTRAN and Python
  • Design flight control laws using modern linear control design techniques and tools
  • Use advanced nonlinear analysis to assess and refine control law designs
  • Perform model validation against test data
  • Develop supplementary controllers, limiters, mode logic and signal shaping across the flight envelope
  • Incorporate control laws into the operational flight program with flight simulation and Vehicle Management Systems software engineers
  • Support desktop, software and real-time flight simulations
  • Support hardware-in-the-loop development and testing
  • Support flight test planning and execution
  • Lead design reviews, analyses, simulations and component/system testing
  • Train and coach others
  • Support new product design, development, integration and flight testing for Boeing Air Dominance military aircraft programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years work-related experience with a Bachelors degree OR an equivalent combination of work-related experience and technical education
  • 3+ years of experience with Guidance Navigation and Control engineering
  • Experience using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX to model systems
  • Level 4: 9+ years work-related experience with a Bachelors degree OR an equivalent combination of work-related experience and technical education
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance or higher preferred
  • Experience with simulation, system and component modeling preferred
  • Experience with implementing algorithms in real time systems preferred
  • Hardware in the Loop Simulator (HILS) experience preferred
  • Prior experience in flight test support preferred
  • Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain program access; U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only
