About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support hardware and software research and development projects
  • Develop firmware and software architecture specifications in a team environment
  • Research algorithms and implementation approaches
  • Design and validate hardware components

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Assist with test procedures and document test results to verify system requirements

  • Troubleshoot and debug complex electromechanical systems and software issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance required
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance or equivalent after starting
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or directly related non-US equivalent qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in hardware and software integration
  • 1+ years of experience working with FPGA embedded systems
  • 1+ years of experience developing and documenting software and firmware in LabVIEW, Python, or C/C++
  • 1+ years of experience with performance analysis using MATLAB or Mathematica
  • Willingness to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process
  • U.S. Person required for U.S. export control compliance
  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
  • Preferred: 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience for Mid-Level (Level 3)
  • Preferred: Active U.S. Top Secret clearance
  • Preferred: Experience with microcontrollers, Single Board Computers (PC104), and Systems on a Chip (SoC)
  • Preferred: Experience integrating hardware and software components into functional systems
  • Preferred: Experience with National Instruments PCIe, PXIe, and data acquisition hardware
  • Preferred: Experience with lightweight Linux distributions
  • Preferred: Experience with GPIO, QSPI, UART, RS-422, RS-485, and Ethernet
  • Preferred: Experience with sensor acquisition and processing
  • Preferred: Experience with servo control applications
  • Preferred: Experience with mixed-signal oscilloscopes, function generators, and test and evaluation equipment
  • Preferred: Experience with telescopes and electro-optical systems
