About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage airworthiness activities of an active domestic or international military program
- Support program audits with foreign airworthiness authorities
- Maintain costs and schedule and assist program owners in understanding certification issues
- Develop certification strategies for software certification to EMAR 21, DO-178, MIL-HDBK-516C section 15, and relevant regulatory standards
- Mentor DO-178 CVEs and other disciplines
- Participate in industry standards development and benchmarking
- Lead engagement with regulators on complex programs and initiatives
- Lead partnership and integration with regulatory authorities to complete airworthiness validation
- Provide consultation on technical support, training, tools and resources for the delegated approval organization
- Advise on compliance reports and documents
- Lead regulatory advocacy strategies, training, tools and methods
- Provide advanced technical consultation across the enterprise on aerospace regulatory compliance projects and programs
- Provide regular status updates and metrics to executive leadership
- Travel up to 25% to support multiple programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Level 4: 6 years of experience working with key software development processes including system development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile software development, SCRUM, Waterfall and continuous integration for software development in a program management capacity
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
- U.S. Person status required for U.S. export control compliance
- Level 5: 10+ years of experience working with key software development processes including SDLC, Agile software development, SCRUM, Waterfall and continuous integration for software development in a program management capacity
- Experience implementing processes and standards compliant with airplane software certification standards and/or FAA certification standards
- Experience with software certification processes and standards, such as DO-178C or similar
- Experience supporting internal software certification activities
- Experience in aircraft certification (FAA, MIL-HDBK-516, EMAR)
- Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
- Ability to obtain an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start
