About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Head the BDUK Design Center and Production Engineering team
- Support customer Part M requirements and enable Part 145 delivery across customer, BDUK, and supplier activities
- Lead growth and development of the Design Center to deliver current and future design engineering requirements
- Own execution and delivery of Production Engineering across current and future platforms
- Oversee Material Review Board, Manufacturing Planning, and Manufacturing Engineering activities
- Execute and deliver work scope to programmes and support business growth
- Lead delivery of GeoDiversity projects for non-BDUK entities
- Manage resource demand and supply, including recruitment when required
- Report performance into Functional management meetings
- Manage employee performance, talent, and career development
- Promote technical excellence through Design Practices and Technical Design Reviews
- Coach team members through Technical Lead Engineer and Boeing Designated Expert development paths
- Network across the Boeing Enterprise for functional development
- Evolve department requirements, definition, culture, and alignment with Enterprise values
- Forecast departmental budget and manage and review financial performance
- Manage department, function, and programme risks, issues, and opportunities
- Develop and execute departmental operational strategy and engineering initiatives
- Serve as a member of Engineering LT
- Manage employees and first-level managers across multiple Engineering disciplines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineering degree typically acquired through an accredited course of study
- Knowledge of Military Airworthiness Authority (MAA) Regulatory Articles (RAs), specifically RA4800 series
- Prior Engineering leadership
- Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance
- Strategic thinking and ability to create new organizational approaches
- Commitment to international collaboration and building a global engineering solution
- Understanding of processes and procedures to define and grow an Engineering Design Organisation
- Understanding of Engineering Design and Material Review Board processes
- Understanding of financial and budgetary management
- Strong reporting and communication skills using data and analytics
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
- Ability to obtain United Kingdom Security Check
- Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
