About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise customers on satellite operation and maintenance activities
- Advise customers on ground command and control system operations
- Lead a small team supporting platform operations and engineering for 10 on-orbit satellites
- Conduct technical meetings
- Author database and software change requests
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Create and implement software tools to improve team efficiency
- Perform ground computer system software and database testing
- Author, maintain, review, and support satellite operations procedures
- Configure and run simulations to support procedure validation
- Conduct technical analyses and studies and provide recommendations
- Perform satellite data trending and analysis to determine spacecraft performance
- Perform problem solving and support other engineers in a team environment
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers
- Support dynamic satellite operations and engineering activities across requirements, design, build, integration, testing, and demonstration
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- U.S. Person required for U.S. export control compliance
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or directly related non-US equivalent qualifications
- 14+ years of Systems Engineering experience or academic combination or equivalent experience
- Ability to obtain certification in one or more operational positions through training and evaluation
- Willingness and ability to relocate at own expense if not within commuting distance of Schriever AFB
- Ability and willingness to work occasional compensated on-call support outside typical business hours
- Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process
- Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
- Applicable educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience required
