About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of web applications meeting industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial software product designs
  • Coordinate development, maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of software products and system integrations
  • Develop, document, and maintain software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs
  • Lead the agile software development lifecycle, including planning, reviews, and customer meetings
  • Debug and resolve issues to ensure software reliability and efficiency
  • Handle user inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze user feedback
  • Research and implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and relevant regulatory changes
  • Develop, establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics
  • Execute and document software research and development projects
  • Consult on software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations
  • Lead software project management and software supplier management activities
  • Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance for compliance with project plans and industry standards
  • Perform full-stack development using AWS infrastructure
  • Participate in the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization and development through maintenance and customer support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to design and implement scalable software solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience designing and developing software for complex systems, including distributed systems and multi-threaded/multi-process applications
  • 5+ years’ experience with Python
  • 5+ years’ experience with front-end web programming using Angular 9/10+, TypeScript, and JavaScript
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. Security Clearance with an adjudicated Counterintelligence or Full Scope Polygraph
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • U.S. Person status required for U.S. export control compliance
  • 100% onsite work at El Segundo, California or Chantilly, Virginia
  • Up to 10% travel may be required
  • Successful completion of the CodeVue technical assessment
  • Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process
  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience; OR 17+ years of related, relevant experience
  • Preferred experience leading software development projects or individuals
  • Preferred strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns
  • Preferred experience with Agile or SAFe practices
  • Preferred familiarity with relational databases
  • Preferred experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Preferred experience writing and executing unit, integration, and system tests
  • Preferred experience with systems engineering or software development on space-based or ground-based systems
