About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the Software Architecture Team for Boeing’s AvionX Mission Systems Software organization
Direct the design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of embedded software integrated into devices and systems
Translate customer requirements into embedded software product designs
Consult on embedded systems software for specialized hardware
Advise on integration of embedded software with hardware components
Oversee efficiency, stability, testing, and debugging of embedded software systems
Influence software development technologies, tools, frameworks, regulations, and software/hardware integration approaches
Track and evaluate internal and supplier software team performance for project and industry compliance
Provide technical leadership for embedded software project management functions
Advise management on embedded software engineering topics

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
U.S. Person required for U.S. export control compliance
5+ years of experience leading a software development team through the full software life cycle
5+ years of experience in software architecture and design of embedded software systems
Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process
Must complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process
Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements
Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Preferred: Experience with software architecture and design methodologies
Preferred: Experience with real-time software, flight management systems, civil navigation, DO-178C, motion planning, estimation, control, MATLAB, Simulink, and C++
