About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the AvionX Software Engineering organization
  • Serve as the highest software technical authority across airborne software programs from architecture definition through certification closure
  • Own the coherence, integrity, and DO-178C/LOR compliance posture of software architectures across commercial and defense platforms
  • Bridge software engineering discipline with system-level safety objectives and regulatory strategy
  • Enable enterprise software engineering practices and processes across AvionX programs
  • Advise management on embedded software engineering topics
  • Consult on embedded systems software code for specialized hardware
  • Direct software testing, debugging, design, development, and maintenance for embedded devices and systems
  • Influence technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes relevant to software and hardware
  • Translate customer requirements into embedded software product designs
  • Oversee embedded software efficiency, stability, and compliance with project plans and industry standards
  • Evaluate internal and supplier software team performance
  • Provide consultation on hardware/software integration
  • Provide technical leadership for embedded software project management functions
  • Travel approximately 20%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required by the U.S. Government
  • U.S. Person status required for U.S. export control compliance
  • 15+ years of experience programming in C/C++
  • 5+ years of experience developing embedded software using VxWorks, DDC-I Deos, or Green Hills Software Integrity RTOS
  • 5+ years of experience with embedded software development, verification, or certification
  • 5+ years of experience with DO-178 high DAL certification
  • 3+ years of experience using Matlab/Simulink
  • Must complete a technical assessment
  • Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements
  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
