About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead end-to-end software development, including software architecture, design, development, and testing
Help meet program software development schedules and milestones
Manage staffing needs and grow organizational skills and capabilities
Set goals, develop employees, and perform annual performance reviews
Perform Cost Account Management assist duties, including status and variance analysis, risk identification, and recovery planning
Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in Software Engineering
Maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners
Provide oversight of technical approaches, products, and processes
Solve complex problems and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Manage software development projects using industry-equivalent practices
Support new business activities and work with the engineering community
Travel between El Segundo and Seal Beach as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active US Top Secret clearance
U.S. Citizenship required for the active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance
3+ years of experience with Software Development projects
At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
Experience with Software Engineering principles including Software Configuration Management, Software Architecture and Design, and Software Life Cycle Management
Active TS/SCI clearance preferred
3+ years of experience managing and/or leading a team preferred
3+ years of experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks preferred
Bachelor of Science degree in a listed STEM field or equivalent experience preferred
Experience with systems engineering or software development on space-based or ground-based systems preferred
Experience managing and participating in a complex IPT within budget, schedule, and performance requirements preferred
Java, C++, and/or Python full stack development and object-oriented programming skills preferred
Experience with DevSecOps / Continuous Integration process and GitLab preferred
Familiarity with TDD, agile software development, DevSecOps, and CI/CD management preferred
Ability to meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person
