About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead end-to-end software development, including architecture, design, development, and testing
  • Manage staffing needs and grow organizational skills and capabilities
  • Set goals, develop employees, and conduct annual performance reviews
  • Perform Cost Account Management assistance, including status and variance analysis, risk identification, and recovery planning
  • Manage employees performing software engineering and technical activities
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners
  • Oversee technical approaches, products, and processes
  • Solve complex problems and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Manage software development projects using industry-equivalent practices
  • Support new business activities and collaborate with the engineering community
  • Travel between El Segundo and Seal Beach as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active US Top Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required for the active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Person required for U.S. export control compliance
  • 3+ years of experience with Software Development projects
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role, or completion of Boeing’s “Exploring Leadership” internal course
  • Experience with Software Engineering principles, including Software Configuration Management, Software Architecture and Design, and Software Life Cycle Management
  • Preferred: Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience managing and/or leading a team
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience leading software development lifecycle projects and/or individuals
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in a listed technical field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with systems engineering or software development on space-based or ground-based systems
  • Experience managing and participating in complex IPTs within budget, schedule, and performance requirements
  • Java, C++, and/or Python full-stack development and object-oriented programming
  • DevSecOps / Continuous Integration processes and GitLab
  • Test-driven development, agile software development, DevSecOps, and CI/CD management
  • Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process
  • Employer will not sponsor employment visas
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing when applicable
  • Must complete the Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment
