About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership, problem resolution, and engineering processes for Communication Systems programs
  • Oversee communications systems hardware design, subsystem production, factory assembly, integration, verification testing, on-orbit testing, and sustainment
  • Understand government and commercial communications systems requirements, operations, and integration
  • Partner with site leadership, program managers, capability directors, business chief engineers, and IPT leads on design and project direction
  • Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines for Communication Systems
  • Ensure execution of Technical Readiness Reviews and Failure Review Boards
  • Develop and execute long-term Communication Systems Engineering strategy
  • Support new business activities and lead engineering review assessments for proposals
  • Influence program strategy, technology roadmaps, and proposal success
  • Derive product and technology insertion roadmaps
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team
  • Manage Communication Systems engineering skills and key personnel resources
  • Implement engineering functional excellence across people, processes, tools, and practices
  • Drive integration of advanced technologies with First Time Quality
  • Implement Technical Independent Reviews and Non-Advocate Reviews

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or directly related non-US equivalent qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in communication/systems engineering
  • 10+ years of experience designing space communication systems
  • Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process
  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
  • Must meet Boeing drug-free workplace testing requirements when applicable
