About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement operational concepts for space missions
  • Serve as point of contact for customers and work with subject matter experts to identify achievable solutions
  • Support technology integration and development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions
  • Develop and present review packages to internal and external senior leadership
  • Drive complex system trade studies to closure
  • Ensure system architecture supports mission objectives
  • Perform functional analysis and decomposition for mission activities
  • Coordinate with diverse stakeholders to resolve cross-segment issues
  • Use Model-Based Systems Engineering tools to capture system architecture and operational concepts
  • Work as part of the Systems Engineering Integration & Test Mission Design team with system architects, ConOps developers, fault and autonomy designers, and ROP authors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI security clearance; a clearance active within the past 24 months is considered active
  • U.S. Citizenship required for the security clearance
  • U.S. Person status required for U.S. export control compliance
  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
  • Bachelor of Science degree or non-U.S. equivalent in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a directly related field
  • Minimum related experience: 1+ years for level 2 or 3+ years for level 3
  • Experience in space systems and working with multi-discipline engineering teams
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional compensated ad hoc support outside typical business hours
  • Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process
  • Eligible candidates may be subject to post-offer drug and alcohol testing
  • Preferred: systems or software engineering experience on space-based systems
  • Preferred: architecture, ConOps, and requirements experience for space-based and associated ground support systems
  • Preferred: master's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
  • Preferred: 3+ years of systems engineering experience
  • Preferred: 2 years of project management experience and PMP
  • Preferred: experience with spacecraft, launch vehicles, autonomous systems, or unmanned systems
  • Preferred: spacecraft mission operations experience
  • Preferred: experience applying MBSE to space programs
  • Preferred: broad knowledge across spacecraft subsystems
  • Preferred: spacecraft ground development experience
