Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement an operational concept for a space mission
  • Serve as point of contact for customers and work with subject matter experts to identify achievable solutions meeting customer needs
  • Support technology integration and development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions
  • Develop and present review packages to internal and external senior leadership
  • Drive complex system trade studies to closure
  • Ensure system architecture supports mission objectives
  • Perform functional analysis and decomposition for mission activities
  • Coordinate with diverse stakeholders to resolve cross-segment issues
  • Use Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to capture system architecture and operational concepts
  • Work with system architects, ConOps developers, fault and autonomy designers, and Recommended Operating Procedure authors
  • Contribute to development of new space vehicles and missions, including autonomous reusable spaceplane technologies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI security clearance; a U.S. security clearance active within the past 24 months is considered active
  • U.S. Citizenship required for the security clearance
  • U.S. Person required for U.S. export control compliance, including U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
  • Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
  • 1+ years of related experience for level 2 or 3+ years for level 3
  • Experience in space systems and working with multi-discipline engineering teams
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or directly related non-US equivalent qualifications
  • Experience with systems or software engineering on space-based systems
  • Experience with architecture, ConOps, and requirements for space-based systems and associated ground support systems
  • Experience with spacecraft, launch vehicles, autonomous systems, or unmanned systems
  • Experience with spacecraft mission operations
  • Experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to space programs
  • Experience with spacecraft ground development
  • Broad knowledge across spacecraft subsystems
  • Master's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry is preferred
  • 3+ years of systems engineering experience is preferred
  • 2 years of project management experience and PMP are preferred
  • Strong spoken, written, and visual communication skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional compensated ad hoc support outside typical business hours
  • Successful candidates must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process
