About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise customers on satellite operation and maintenance
- Advise customers on ground command and control system operations
- Participate in technical meetings
- Author database and software change requests
- Perform ground computer system software and database testing
- Author, maintain, review, and support satellite operations procedures
- Configure and run simulations to support procedure validation
- Assist with technical analyses and studies and provide recommendations
- Perform satellite data trending and analysis to determine spacecraft performance
- Perform problem solving and support other engineers in a team environment
- Support operations and engineering for 10 on-orbit satellites
- Work with military satellite communications ground systems managing protected tactical waveforms over WGS satellites and terminals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance; ability to upgrade to TS/SCI
- U.S. Citizenship required for the security clearance
- U.S. Person status required for export-control compliance
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or directly related non-US equivalent qualifications
- 2+ years of Satellite Operations or equivalent academic combination or experience
- Ability to obtain certification in one or more operational positions through training and evaluation
- Willingness and ability to relocate at own expense if not within commuting distance of Schriever AFB
- Expert/Level 3: 5+ years of Systems Engineering or Satellite Operations or equivalent academic combination or experience
- Preferred: Top Secret Security Clearance
- Preferred: Experience responding to anomalies for on-orbit communications satellites
- Preferred: Experience working closely with US Military customers in operational and training environments
- Preferred: Familiarity with developing software or engineering tools
- Ability and willingness to work occasional compensated on-call support outside typical business hours
- Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements
- Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status
- Ability to navigate a military base worksite with buildings without elevators and a long walk from the parking lot
