About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform precise material quantity takeoffs using advanced digital software for structural steel reinforcement, metal fabrication, rebar, and trench mesh systems
Interpret structural drawings, architectural plans, and concrete reinforcement schedules
Use drafting and design systems to review spatial dimensions and extract material metadata directly from project models
Compile complete cost estimates, evaluate supplier quotations, perform risk analysis, and build structured commercial proposals
Identify discrepancy errors or missing technical documentation in plans and submit Requests for Information (RFIs)
Maintain and update tracking databases for structural material pricing, labor units, and manufacturing timelines
Communicate closely with cross-functional project delivery teams via phone, email, and virtual meetings
Work directly with the Australian client's onshore team

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 4 to 5 years of proven professional experience dedicated to estimating steel-reinforced concrete systems (i.e. Rebar etc)
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management
Expert knowledge of digital takeoff systems like Bluebeam Revu or Planswift
Proficiency in navigating AutoCAD and Revit to verify structural dimensions, layers, and building information models
Deep familiarity with Australian / international standards, steel structural codes, and construction methodologies
Superior written and spoken English skills suited for direct coordination with internal teams and vendors
