About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer speech therapy to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence
- Gather background data, review referrals, select and modify evaluation tools, and evaluate patients' physical and psychosocial functioning
- Reevaluate patient progress during treatment at appropriate intervals
- Recommend, acquire, and modify adaptive equipment to augment patient independence
- Provide the full range of speech-language pathology services as ordered by a physician
- Consult with physicians regarding changes in treatment
- Supervise home health aides as appropriate under state and federal guidelines
- Evaluate outcomes and conduct discharge planning
- Provide care under the direction and supervision of the Director of Clinical Services, Clinical Supervisor, or Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech Language Pathology, and is licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist by the state where they furnish services, OR successfully completed 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum (or be in the process of completing), at least nine months of supervised full-time SLP experience, and has successfully completed a national examination approved by the Secretary
- Currently licensed in the state(s) in which practicing
- Minimum of one (1) year in an acute care setting
- Passion to serve and help others live their best lives possible
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation to and from work
