About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide support to the Site Stewardship Division in planning, coordination, tracking, documentation, and reporting of land management activities
  • Support site operations, environmental compliance, land use controls, and long-term stewardship activities
  • Assist in planning and coordinating site stewardship projects, tasks, and milestones
  • Support development and maintenance of project schedules, work plans, action item lists, and task trackers
  • Coordinate with internal organizations, subject matter experts, field personnel, and management
  • Identify schedule conflicts, resource needs, project risks, delays, and barriers, and elevate or communicate concerns to management and project leadership
  • Support land use planning, land access coordination, land status tracking, property stewardship, and institutional control implementation
  • Compile, organize, and validate land management data, maps, files, and related documentation
  • Coordinate interfaces with real property, environmental compliance, cultural/ecological resources, site planning, and other organizations
  • Support implementation of site stewardship program requirements, procedures, and management expectations
  • Track project performance against schedules and milestones
  • Assist with performance metrics, dashboards, and status indicators for management use

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum requirement Bachelor of Science degree
  • Minimum 10 years related experience in Land Management, Land Use Planning, Long-Term Stewardship, Environmental Governance and Regulatory Strategy, and other related fields
  • Working-level knowledge of Hanford Site mission, land development policies, procedures, and activities
  • Extensive experience using MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Excel, and/or other MS Office tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in related fields (e.g. Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Environmental Management)
  • Preferred experience with stakeholder and tribal engagement, and federal and state agency partnerships
  • Proven experience and demonstrated capabilities in Hanford-related land management, long-term stewardship, and improvement projects involving BPA or other stakeholders
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements relative to DOE, EPA, FAA, Washington State Department of Health, and other interface agencies involved with land management and site stewardship
  • Working-level knowledge of DOE program and project management practices, policies, and procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations
