About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, test, and field complex hardware and software for aircraft survivability and countermeasures systems
- Provide sustainment and technical support for currently fielded aircraft survivability equipment
- Perform research and development of next-generation aircraft countermeasures systems and capabilities
- Work in a Government test facility performing hands-on sustainment of the ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispensing System
- Develop software, configure hardware, and perform testing to confirm system performance
- Provide software development, test equipment design, and support to fielded system operators
- Interact with US and Allied operators
- Troubleshoot production or test system issues
- Develop improvements that meet operator needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of experience performing software development and hardware testing of fielded and in-production U.S. military systems such as avionics systems, control systems, or countermeasures dispensing systems
- 10+ years of experience in software and firmware programming languages such as C, C++, 8051 Assembly, Python, or ADA
- 10+ years of experience working as part of a US Government and contractor engineering team
- Experience applying modern software development best practices and techniques
- Experience developing and configuring software, analyzing and resolving bugs and defects, and developing technical manuals and codebase documentation
- Experience maintaining multiple software and test equipment configurations concurrently
- Experience with hardware emulation systems and test equipment
- Experience developing test hardware and software
- Experience performing testing and identifying necessary changes to production software
- Experience working in a US Government test facility
- Experience leading production software modifications that meet mission needs
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
- Nice to have: Experience with the ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispensing System
- Nice to have: Experience with US Navy aircraft Electronic Warfare systems
- Nice to have: Experience supporting Foreign Military Sales operators
- Nice to have: Experience designing and utilizing test equipment for ALE-47 systems
- Nice to have: Experience creating and testing modules and components for compliance with design specifications
- Nice to have: Experience developing and testing interfaces between software products and products of other vendors
