About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead technical design and architecture discussions
  • Manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including sprint planning, resource allocation, and project timelines, using Agile methodologies
  • Develop proof of concepts with hands-on responsibility
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide mentorship, and support developers’ professional growth
  • Define and enforce coding standards and best practices through code reviews
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for product managers and stakeholders
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications
  • Oversee software releases and deployments, including CI/CD pipelines
  • Direct recruitment and hiring for new developers
  • Manage budgets for software, tools, and training
  • Report project status and team performance to senior leadership
  • Support clients’ national security missions and digital platform transformation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience with software development
  • 2+ years of experience managing and leading software engineering teams
  • Experience designing software architectures for scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Experience with Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and sprint planning tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience debugging, performance optimization, and version control systems such as Git
  • Top Secret clearance required
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Security+ CE Certification
  • Ability to lead and mentor across varied technical teams
  • Ability to manage resource allocation, team workload, and project prioritization
  • Ability to stay current with software development technologies and methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field preferred
  • Master's degree in a STEM field a plus
  • TS/SCI clearance nice to have
  • PMP, AWS, ITIL, or CSM Certification nice to have
