About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on UUV mechanical systems and support equipment
- Assist with material handling, inventory, and logistics for operational assets
- Support vehicle launch, recovery, pier-side evolutions, and open-water operations
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform component-level repairs
- Read, interpret, and edit technical documentation, maintenance procedures, and mechanical drawings
- Document maintenance actions and assist in readiness and field events
- Maintain contractor- and government-owned tooling required for UUV maintenance and operations
- Support Navy undersea programs and sustainment of autonomous undersea platforms
- Provide onsite fleet technical assistance as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, repair, or operational support
- Ability to read, interpret, and edit technical documentation and drawings
- Ability to work on-site at Port Hueneme
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time within and outside of the continental United States
- Ability to move equipment up to 50 lbs. during maintenance, launch and recovery, and field operations
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED
- Experience with unmanned systems, maritime platforms, or robotics
- Experience supporting field operations, launch and recovery, or maintenance teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field (preferred)
