About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide project management for Grid Solutions Group projects
- Manage material flow from the planning phase through project completion
- Maintain project schedules and accurate databases of current projects
- Ensure required specifications are met for jobs in progress
- Coordinate, analyze, and act on customer needs, pricing, products, competition, and procedures
- Follow up on quotations after bid dates, clarify product specifications, resolve outstanding issues, and develop schedules meeting customer deadlines
- Complete assigned projects
- Provide timely follow-up on technical inquiries and requests
- Perform material takeoffs for bids involving wire and cable, transformers, splices, terminations, switchgear, apparatus, and specialty equipment
- Develop customer quotations within company profit objectives and guidelines
- Assist with vendor negotiations for product pricing and delivery
- Work with the legal department on contract review and risk identification
- Complete project group job forms with customer information
- Oversee or support product application, estimating, procurement, material management, staging, kitting, storage, jobsite delivery, back hauling, and project closeout
- Develop customer accounts, secure orders, and generate product and service sales
- Consult with engineers and developers on projects
- Assist with purchasing, product evaluations, inventory management, pricing development, and related services
- Contact vendors for pricing
- Attend training programs and assist with trade shows as needed
- Collaborate with Business Development Managers, Regional Managers, and sales staff to meet sales and gross profit objectives
- Provide responsive, quality customer service and maintain team workload balance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Business or trade degree preferred or the equivalent in work experience
- 2 years of prior customer service, quotation, or sales experience with strong knowledge of electrical products and utility systems preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of product lines and applications, alternate product substitutes, and supplier pricing policies preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English
- Prefer strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), internet, email, and SAP software
- Technical ability to understand electrical systems and product applications with prior electrical distribution experience preferred
- Technical ability to read specifications and drawings highly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, reading, and customer service skills preferred
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and work well on a team
- Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Successful completion of required pre-employment criminal background check; drug testing and MVR check as applicable
