About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead day-to-day operations promoting sales, securing orders, and providing quality customer service focused on Siemens Medium Voltage solutions
- Provide proactive product and system application support to customers, branches, and sales engineers
- Evaluate new products and make recommendations on stock levels
- Provide field troubleshooting assistance and support customer field projects
- Contribute to customer training and conduct product application assessments
- Serve as Center of Excellence based on assigned focus area
- Develop internal and external training strategies
- Mentor new hires and help coworkers learn the position
- Support promotion and sales of Border States technical products, services, agency, and distribution lines
- Grow the Siemens MV solutions portfolio by creating demand, influencing product specifications, and positioning Siemens MV solutions
- Engage in technically difficult discussions with consultants, customers, and employees regarding product specifications
- Follow up on quotations, technical inquiries, and customer requests
- Maintain contact with customers’ engineering staff and consultants
- Build technical relationships with utilities, engineering procurement and construction firms, and utility market stakeholders
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned product areas and Siemens MV products and applications
- Resolve complex product technology issues
- Input TCCM cost savings documentation
- Lead training on new and existing technical product lines and applications
- Conduct product demonstrations and application-focused presentations
- Conduct product application assessments, including TCCM savings, material consolidation, alternatives, and applicable standards
- Perform product updates and new product launches for branches and customers
- Attend and assist with trade shows and training programs
- Ensure product demonstrations are functional
- Provide input to pricing and purchasing departments on product evaluations, code descriptions, inventory, and pricing
- Use relevant SAP processes to support order entry and management
- Travel frequently as required to perform job duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors technical or engineering degree or equivalent experience required
- 5 years of experience with technical and business aspects of the focus area required
- 5 years of experience in Siemens MV solutions portfolio preferred
- Experience working with electric utilities, engineering procurement and construction firms, or power distribution systems preferred
- Knowledge and technical competence in understanding of electrical utility distribution and transmission systems preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), internet, email, and SAP software preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and customer service skills preferred
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and present
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Criminal background check required for all positions
- Motor Vehicle Record check required for positions involving driving
