About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Grow incremental profitable sales with customers spanning multiple regions
  • Establish relationships and identify opportunities within new and existing strategic accounts
  • Oversee development and presentation of customer proposals with Supply Chain Services
  • Drive innovation and lead strategic opportunities in the Renewables and Infrastructure segment
  • Develop strategies to meet and exceed revenue growth targets using market intelligence
  • Maintain strategic plans for key and target customers and regional projects
  • Present to customer management and communicate Border States' value proposition
  • Define customer engagement strategies, align stakeholders, and mobilize teams
  • Map customer organizations, stakeholders, and internal champions
  • Develop multi-year revenue plans with goals and resources
  • Support top EPC customers and opportunities in Solar, BESS, Wind, Substation, Transmission, and Emerging Markets
  • Conduct customer discovery and co-create, blueprint, and monetize value propositions
  • Lead cross-functional virtual teams and manage goals and expectations
  • Provide visibility to internal stakeholders on efforts and action items
  • Finalize value propositions, specialized terms and conditions, and master supply agreements
  • Target TCCM opportunities and quantify delivered value
  • Execute value, deliver customer commitments and orders, and maintain quality metrics
  • Expand customer share of wallet and serve as a trusted advisor
  • Coordinate customer presentations, agreements, and extended services with SCS Administrators
  • Support supplier feedback and alignment with Marketing Managers
  • Participate in conferences and educational opportunities
  • Travel frequently to perform job duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of a four-year engineering degree or the equivalent in substantial technical work experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with outside sales and/or business development, as well as experience in inside sales or a technical sales role
  • Experience initiating and negotiating agreements highly preferred
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak in English
  • Prefer strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint), internet, email, and SAP software
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, reading, and customer service skills
  • Ability to articulate Border States' value to existing and future customers
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize
  • Ability to understand customer negotiation points and the role of competition
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to use sound judgment and effective communication
