Design, develop and maintain scalable applications across customer-facing platforms and internal operational systems
Own features end-to-end, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment and production monitoring
Build intuitive, responsive and performant user interfaces
Develop reliable backend services, APIs, integrations and data models for complex business workflows
Collaborate with Product and Design to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Contribute to scalable, secure and maintainable software architecture
Write clean, modular, well-tested and reusable code
Identify and eliminate technical debt, duplicated logic, performance bottlenecks and fragile implementations
Champion engineering best practices, automated testing, documentation and code reviews
Design robust workflows accounting for edge cases, failures, data consistency and transactional integrity
Ensure reliability of payments, bookings and customer data
Own system stability, performance and reliability
Implement monitoring, logging and error handling
Investigate production incidents and implement sustainable fixes
Optimize database queries, API performance and application responsiveness
Apply security best practices across authentication, authorization, data protection and third-party integrations
Build resilient integrations with payment providers, communication platforms and other business-critical systems
Ensure safe deployments with testing and rollback strategies
Leverage AI-assisted development tools for implementation, debugging, testing and code quality
Improve development processes, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment practices
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend practical improvements
Collaborate with Product and shape technical solutions
Own technical decisions and communicate trade-offs, risks and dependencies
Provide constructive code reviews and mentor less experienced engineers
Break down complex initiatives into deliverables with estimates and technical requirements
Communicate progress, blockers and technical risks proactively
Take responsibility for reliable production outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional software development experience
Significant experience building and maintaining payment systems, e-commerce, CRM or booking systems
Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Hotwire, and React, including modern frontend architecture, state management and performance optimization
Strong backend development experience, ideally with Ruby on Rails and/or Node.js
Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, indexing and transactional integrity
Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services
Experience with cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, monitoring and production troubleshooting
Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, automated testing and secure development practices
Experience with payment systems, complex transactional workflows or business-critical applications is a strong advantage
Practical experience using AI coding assistants and integrating them into professional development workflows
