About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide functional support to the BPC Housing Team
- Conduct literature reviews, data collection and analysis, and legislative analysis
- Draft explainers, articles, or one-pagers
- Craft newsletters and weekly team communications
- Attend and summarize external events and congressional hearings
- Prepare for and run internal and external events
- Assist with projects related to disaster response and transportation policy as needed
- Work directly with Center staff, with specific responsibilities based on the intern’s interests and team needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program as a junior or above, a graduate program, or be a recent graduate
- Detailed understanding of the legislative process
- Strong research and writing skills
- Efficient worker with ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Strong interest in housing policy issues, such as homelessness, the Housing Choice Voucher program, and housing finance
- Non-U.S. citizens must have a valid work permit or visa verifying eligibility to work in the United States
- Applicants must submit a resume, cover letter, relevant 3–5 page writing sample, college or university transcript, and a 5–8 sentence response to “What does Bipartisanship mean to you?”
- Relocation assistance will not be provided
