About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage valuation engagements for financial reporting, tax, transaction and dispute support purposes, as well as audit review support
- Demonstrate good judgment and identify and problem-solve critical valuation and process-related issues
- Research, propose, and execute relevant strategies to resolve critical issues
- Stay abreast of current technical, business, and economic developments relevant to the business valuation profession
- Manage the generation of detailed valuation exhibits and reports
- Manage the quality control process
- Embrace business development activities and develop and achieve new business goals
- Develop and maintain an active network of contacts and participate in industry groups and associations
- Communicate effectively with group leadership, staff, external relationships, and other BPM service segments
- Develop and maintain positive and value-added client relationships
- Enhance client services through effective use of technology, tools, staff utilization, and project management skills
- Work with group leadership and marketing to produce marketing and thought leadership articles, projects, and presentations
- Maintain a team- and people-focused approach and make a positive impact on clients, colleagues, and communities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, mathematics, economics or finance from an accredited college/university or equivalent is required
- Advanced degree in business or finance preferred
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in business valuation at an accounting, valuation, consulting, or investment banking firm
- 5-8 years’ total experience in professional services
- Demonstrable experience identifying new opportunities for work, up-selling and cross-selling highly desirable
- Understanding of derivatives and advanced modeling techniques for companies in the life sciences and technology industries strongly preferred
- Strong foundation of financial valuation requirements for fair value analyses under financial reporting requirements required
- Connected into a market for business development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel required
- Experience with Crystal Ball and advanced analytical tools preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong business and financial statement analysis skills
- Solid understanding of the capital markets
- Client and staff management skills required
