About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct media calling and follow-up with editors, reporters, producers, and bookers
- Write and edit media pitches, pitch letters, media alerts, press releases, press materials, press kits, and client briefing documents
- Develop and update targeted media lists and press contact databases
- Support outreach to national, regional, trade, and online media outlets
- Assist with product sample send-outs and editor requests
- Support online PR and social media management, including content support and community monitoring
- Research media outlets, journalists, industry trends, and story angles
- Track news clippings, press clips, media coverage, and compile coverage reports and recaps
- Conduct competitive analysis and brand audits
- Assist in planning event details, guest lists, and RSVPs
- Coordinate and assist with press conferences, press previews, and media events
- Support on-site event execution, check-in, and media hosting
- Provide daily support to management and the account team
- Learn to manage client accounts and client servicing
- Assist with client communications, agendas, and meeting preparations
- Support marketing campaigns and integrated PR campaigns
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently enrolled in a college/university (minimum 1 year completed)
- Previous PR or Marketing experience (preferably within an agency)
- Previous agency internship experience
- Experience in press release writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced agency setting
- Genuine interest in media and in working across industries, including fashion, beauty, lifestyle, wellness, technology, and author and expert publicity
- Ability to commit to 24 to 32 hours per week
- Immediate availability
