About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a varied caseload of housing litigation matters on behalf of Registered Providers, with appropriate supervision
- Advise on and progress cases involving anti-social behaviour, possession proceedings, housing management litigation, injunctions, committal proceedings, housing disrepair, property condition claims, hoarding and access matters
- Support senior colleagues on more complex and high-value cases
- Attend court hearings and undertake advocacy where appropriate
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, witness statements and applications
- Provide clear, practical and commercial advice to clients
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to excellent client service delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified Solicitor with up to 5 years’ PQE
- Experience of, or a strong interest in, housing litigation or social housing law
- Exposure to a varied caseload (contentious work preferred)
- Some advocacy experience or a willingness to develop this skill
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A proactive and ambitious approach, with a genuine enthusiasm to build a career in housing law
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to build relationships with clients and colleagues
- A team-oriented mindset, with a willingness to learn and contribute to a supportive team environment
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
