About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Champion product quality and reliability across Bracco Medical Technologies
- Partner with Systems Engineering, Quality, and cross-functional teams to define quality and reliability goals, requirements, and strategies
- Maintain expertise in reliability methods, testing, field performance, risk management, and failure analysis
- Lead reliability strategies throughout the product lifecycle, from product development through post-market performance
- Ensure field and reliability data drive measurable product improvements
- Define and lead Design for Reliability methodologies and frameworks for new hardware and software product development
- Mentor engineers and improve engineering skills, methodologies, and domain knowledge
- Develop business cases and plans for reliability programs and communicate benefits to senior management
- Review and approve reliability planning, testing, and analysis for new product development and sustaining programs
- Incorporate quality and reliability requirements into products and quantify product quality and reliability across the portfolio
- Contribute to Technical Design Reviews and ensure they are complete and effective
- Define strategies and roadmaps for new tools, methods, and processes addressing quality and reliability needs
- Advocate for technology in business and customer interactions
- Attract, develop, and retain engineering talent
- Serve as champion and key stakeholder in technical design reviews
- Guide engineers in presenting technology designs and explaining decisions
- Manage internal and external stakeholder communication on key technical updates and issues
- Manage risk activities and ensure technical decisions are implemented and tracked to conclusion
- Define reliability metrics and targets using field, complaint, service, and test data
- Lead or support investigations into significant and recurring field failures
- Drive product reliability improvements based on post-market performance
- Provide reliability input to risk management and risk-control decisions
- Measure subsystem and end-to-end system reliability to demonstrate customer impact
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors’ degree in engineering, preferably systems, electrical, mechanical, bio-medical, or software, reliability, or related scientific discipline
- Experience mentoring and coaching engineers
- 5+ years of experience with Design for Reliability (DFR) and associated reliability processes
- 5+ years in a product development system engineering role
- Experience analyzing field, complaint, and service data to identify reliability trends and failure modes
- Demonstrated experience leading root cause investigations and corrective actions for complex product failures
- Working knowledge of reliability, risk management, and design controls, including ISO 14971 and ISO 13485
- Demonstrated experience with risk management and systems engineering processes
- Ability to communicate effectively across a business enterprise, adapting messages to the audience in written and verbal media
- High organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team across the business unit
- Ability to travel approximately 10%
- Preferred: PhD in EE, Systems Engineering, Reliability, Software, Physics, or related scientific discipline
- Preferred: 10+ years of Reliability experience
- Preferred: Experience working with physicians and customers in a product development role
- Preferred: Voice-of-customer experience and translating it into actionable product-development items
- Preferred: Experience developing and interpreting clinical research for medical devices
- Preferred: Experience transitioning technology research into commercial products
- Preferred: Experience coaching early-career engineers into senior positions
- Preferred: Experience with design of experiments, data analysis, statistical methods, and presentation of results
- Preferred: Familiarity with databases and software tools for projects, requirements, and risk management
- Preferred: Understanding of product development milestones and basic business financials
- Preferred: Experience with government regulatory agencies and audit processes
- Preferred: Reliability/serviceability experience applicable to medical equipment
- Preferred: CRE, ASQ, or Six Sigma Black Belt/Master Black Belt certification
